PONY EXPRESS

For groups who may be unable to leave their environment, such as patients and residents of an assisted living facility, our Pony Express staff can bring our pony, Buttons, for all to enjoy.

Most people in care facilities don’t get to be around horses in a safe and nonjudgmental setting. Whether talking to Buttons or brushing her, individuals can engage with a horse in a unique, meaningful way. This interaction appears to be especially beneficial for people suffering from dementia; CTR’s staff have observed that being around Buttons evokes memories of earlier days when many folks had close ties to farm life.
