PLANNED GIVING
Planned or estate gifts can make a significant, lasting impact on the nonprofit organization that is important to you.
Two of the most common (and easiest) types of planned gifts are:
Bequests
A bequest simply provides a gift for CTR in your will. Types of bequests include:
General Bequest:
"I leave the sum of $_____ (or ____ % of my estate) to Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding, Inc. (CTR), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the state of Maryland, to be used for its exempt purposes.”
Residuary Bequest:
“I give to Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the state of Maryland, the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to be used for its exempt purposes."
Contingent Bequest:
"If (name of beneficiary) predeceases me or disclaims, I give such property to Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding, Inc., a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the state of Maryland, to be used for its exempt purposes."
Life Insurance
You may also wish to name Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding, Inc. as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
There are many other ways to leave a legacy. Before making any plans, please consult your professional advisor to discuss the vehicle that is right for you!
