Full-time Equine Operations Manager

Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding, Inc. (CTR) is seeking an experienced equine professional to join our dynamic team as a full-time Equine Operations Manager. The Equine Operations Manager will oversee the management of CTR’s herd of horses, including their health, wellness, exercise, and capacity to be utilized in adaptive educational and recreational aspects of the program. The Equine Operations Manager may be responsible for participating in programs that operate during the day, evenings, and/or weekends. This position will be responsible for providing onsite support as needed as a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor or Instructor-in-Training, as required by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH). Reporting to the Senior Management Team, the Equine Operations Manager should be forward-thinking regarding how CTR can care for our facilities and herd better and be communicative with Senior Management regarding these ideas.

CTR, founded in 2003 and located in the Street area of Harford County, is a non-profit organization and Premier Accredited Center of PATH International and Harford County’s first Horse Discovery Center. CTR provides a fun and unique healing experience through our adaptive riding program for children and adults who live with disabilities and diagnoses. Through the kindness of benefactors, volunteers, and horses, CTR’s riders and families find hope, growth and compassion. Our mission is to encourage healing and celebrate life with individuals and groups whose minds, bodies and spirits will benefit from the transformative connection between people and horses. Therapeutic Riding Instructor (part-time)

Chesapeake Therapeutic Riding, Inc. (CTR) is seeking a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor to join our dynamic team. This position will be responsible for providing onsite support as a registered therapeutic riding instructor or instructor in training as required by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH). Reporting to the Program Manager, the Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor will carry out the duties as required for the instructors, instructors-in-training and lesson volunteers.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with volunteers and instructors regarding volunteer needs for lessons;
  • Provide training and support for instructors-in-training and volunteers;
  • Maintain certification compliance; and
  • Report any needs to the Program Director.
