On Sunday, April 14, 2024, CTR will host our inaugural Fundraiser and Fun Run, “Hoofin’ It 5K”! We invite members of the community to register as competitive racers and “fun run/walk/roll” racers to run or walk approximately three miles on our farm and the trail at Poplar Grove Park adjacent to us. We hope this event will help us raise funds for operational expenses in our veterans program, “Horses and Heroes” and our regular programming which connects people who live with disabilities and diagnoses to the healing power of horses.
Our adaptive riding lessons and unmounted basic horsemanship lessons have demonstrated the benefit to children, adults, and veterans—in physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual ways. Since our founding in 2003, thousands of participants can attest to the way their connection with our healing herd of horses and ponies has helped them. But sustaining our programming as a non-profit is expensive and a constant challenge! We have farm, facility, herd, and operational expenses that often cannot be covered through grant-funding and program fees. And that is why we have created this fun and inclusive event.
How can you help us? Consider becoming a sponsor! We seek sponsorship contributions for the event itself to help us build the “war-chest” to cover race prizes, giveaways, refreshments, maps, and safety materials for participants, and their families; signage and materials for the event and facility; and materials for race-day event staff to help delineate the racecourse and make sure everyone who attends has a safe and fun time. Additional contributions to CTR through sponsorship that exceed the costs outlined above will be transferred to funding for CTR program operational expenses. We’ve included the sponsorship levels and details for your review.
