On Sunday, May 18, 2025, CTR will host the 2nd Annual Fundraiser and Fun Run, “Hoofin’ It 5K”. Registration is open for both competitive racers and “fun run/walk/roll” participants to run or walk approximately three miles on the trail at Poplar Grove Park adjacent to our farm. The event aims to raise funds to cover the operational expenses of the veteran program, “Horses and Heroes”, as well as regular programming that connects individuals with disabilities and diagnoses to therapeutic horse interactions.
Our adaptive riding lessons and unmounted basic horsemanship lessons have shown benefits for children, adults, and veterans in various aspects, including physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Since the organization's founding in 2003, many participants have reported positive outcomes from their interaction with our horses and ponies. Maintaining our programs as a nonprofit organization incurs significant costs, and grant funds and program fees are insufficient to meet these expenses, particularly in the current economic climate. Thus, we have organized this inclusive event to support our efforts.
How can you help? Consider becoming a sponsor! Event proceeds help offset expenses and support program costs because all veteran programming is provided free of charge. Sponsorship proceeds will be allocated to funding CTR veterans’ program operational expenses. Sponsorship levels, including year-round signage through CTR’s “Thank-A-Vet” mission, are included for review.
Your support will help us achieve our goal of making equine-assisted services more accessible to those in need.
